Re: WRUW 1/7/18-1/13/18

Re: The EARLIEST American made Men's Wrist Watch KNOWN to EXIST

Once again Stan... you never cease to amaze. It looks JUST like the advert and the hands even match. The Key to this is: The earliest KNOWN American! The hunt always continues and if there is an earlier Wrist to be found we all know who will most likely find the Ad AND the watch down the line! This ...

You guys brought out the big guns this week. Tonight's watch is an early 50s Lord Elgin Clubman with a black dial.

Re: Watch Worn Over Shirt Cuff...?

Agree entirely Greg. Also easier for professional pickpockets/thieves. However, from the look of him, it's quite possible that he would have arranged a horse's head to appear in your bed if you'd criticised his style. :) Andy C HA! He does have the "Yeah, I am wearing my watch like this... you gott...

Re: Watch Worn Over Shirt Cuff...?

Hum... Just trying to find the logic in this... Pros: Easy to read the time (like a diver, yes) Won't pull hair on arms No oils from skin on watch, over time "maybe" less wear from friction? (but maybe more) Cons: Look like an idiot Ruin shirts, wrinkle shirts, catch band on shirts Eaiser to scratch...

Re: Sangamo

That 15 year service award pin must be fairly rare,as it is the first one I have seen for Sangamo. “Fantastic Find” Greg !! FJF Thanks Fred, I knew this one h...

That pin is really cool. Strange that I remember this, but the fuse box in my boyhood home in Michigan was a Sangamo.
The Factory... look familiar?

Sangamo

Here is a little one I was lucky to find. This is a 15 year service pin from The Sangamo Electric Company of Springfield, Il. I love anything Illinois Watch Company related and a little bit of the story of Sangamo and Illinois Watch Co. is found here. There is also a little Hamilton twist as well. F...
