Next in the collection...
From the TOP 10
Most "Collectible" Illinois Wrist Watches.
--------------------------------------
#10 The 1920-28 "Admiral Evans"

The most distinctive feature of this Nautically themed watch is it's 8 sided Sterling Silver case.

FJF:
Price when New: unknown
FF: Rarity rating 4/6 out of 6
$750 - $1850 poor to mint condition
(depending on model variation)

The delicate porcelain dial and hands are very Pocket Watch
inspired and it is considered part of the Illinois "Transition" period.

When Gentlemen started to put "Straps" on!

The sterling silver cases were made by Fahys, Solidarity, Elgin and Illinois Watch Case co.

Not the fanciest movement, but it did the trick.

There are AE style watches marketed by Elgin and Waltham too.

and...
A one of a kind Solid Rose Gold (8 sides)

GJH NOTES:
To find one at all is a treat...
To find one with the porcelain dial uncracked, very cool.
The coolest ones have swivel lugs...wow!
I have hardly never seen one for sale on ebay.
Needless to say, if you see one...grab it.

ENJOY!

Agree that these are awesome. Especially, the off set crown one and the solid rose gold one. They are the only ones of this type that I have ever seen.

Greg we need to hook you up with YGF one to complete the set.

Great collection

Thanks

Fred, it isn't often that Greg has an unfilled hole in the collection! This one must have been elusive!

Nice ones Greg! Always a treat!

Yes, indeed. I have only ever seen two YGF Admiral Evans.

We will make sure our friend Greg gets one for sure.

Thanks
