Identification Help

#1 Post by gogirlusa » Thu May 24, 2018 12:53 pm

Hey everyone! :) I'm selling my dad's watch collection on Ebay and I've been searching for this one but can't seem to find it. Does anyone know the model and date? Thanks so much for any help you can give :)

Pretty sure it's a 1939 Lone Eagle. Beautiful watch.

Eli, They look so much alike, not sure why they have different names, unless it has to do with the movement jewel count.
Bulova was a bit OCD in there naming convention.

The lugs on the Lone Eagle close in much more tightly. They require a metal band (or an 8mm srap, which might look a bit odd).

Looking closer at the Lone Eagle case, it appears that it probably started out as the exact same case with the same lugs. You can see the seam where they just added a little bit onto the lugs to work with the narrower bracelet.

Do you guys think this is worth selling on Ebay? I've listed it but haven't gotten much interest. What do you think it's worth? Thanks again! :)
