WRUW 2/10 through 2/16/2019?

#1 Post by Magpie » Sun Feb 10, 2019 12:02 pm

My wristwear for church today was an Illinois ladies' Octagon model, with a moiré dial:

Since we're still in the season of Epiphany, I thought the star pattern on the dial would make this watch a good choice.

For Sunday, I picked an Illinois "Baronet" (which I also wore to an organ recital on Friday):

Tomorrow I'll be wearing my newest find... a vintage Mathey tissot curve. -1940's I think. It came with a cheap strap so I added this vintage one.. Kind of works I think :)

Love your Ascot, Grumpy! It's so hard to find a dial as good as yours—and to get it to show in a photograph!

Welcome to the forum. Nice watch. That looks very similar to a early 40's Waltham model called the Dighton.

Maybe Wadsworth maded the same case design for Tissot also. Joel

Interesting that Waltham does look like the same case.. I was going to say it reminded me of the Bulova knickerbocker model but now it reminds me of the Dighton. Mathey-Tissot made some really nice watches their chronographs are great

Today felt like a Sutton sort of day, so picked one of my favourites. A tiny bit worn on bezel corners,
Keeps time to within a few seconds a day (!!!), and is a great size for a daily wearer.

I really must sell a few though, I don't need 4!!!
