Maybe a new mainspring to speed it up? This is a electric watch joke kind of like changing spark plugs in a diesel.

As you know, always better to have the collection the way you stated, watches and buckles 14K. Are your tangs marked 14K? If so, congrats, you rarely see those marked.

I would not know, it's not in my area of collecting.

The 982 went into 14K gold filled cases except Contour and Seckron in January 1940.

The 982M came out in 6/13/1940 and then was first used on 8/23/40 in the Foster. See attached.
