I believe the total hairspring is 12 & 5\8ths coils and this person just picks a point, grabs it and makes it look so easy. I was told once you do the over coil, and you have the hairspr...

Maybe a new mainspring to speed it up? This is a electric watch joke kind of like changing spark plugs in a diesel.

Re: Pleasant surprises after a buy – I like to read your story!
There were several Masterpiece Award Watches made, especially by the awards division which I think yours was based by the description on the box. Attached is a sample of a couple to tease you with. They were not named, but rather given numbers to identify with and why I asked if your box had a numbe...

Randy,
As you know, always better to have the collection the way you stated, watches and buckles 14K. Are your tangs marked 14K? If so, congrats, you rarely see those marked.

Re: Reason the 754 Replaced the 982M?
The 982 went into 14K gold filled cases except Contour and Seckron in January 1940.
The 982M came out in 6/13/1940 and then was first used on 8/23/40 in the Foster. See attached.

I've seen white buckles in solid and filled, so I would assume white GF and not SS. Again, I am assuming.

Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here.
Looks like a Kendall or Brandon, but according to this, was only in stainless. I found this in an 80's catalog.
Your band is obviously different, not 100 % of the name, but this was close.

Re: 14K Buckles
I have known for years they were made this way, I just kept it to myself and recently decided to let you all know. As a collector, thru the years of research I have gained some knowledge (and I am amazed what I still am learning) and don't really share it with anyone other than Bryan or Rene. It's t...

Re: Coronado Hands
My guess and is only a guess, is that some people had a hard time reading the time with the spear hands? I have seen several World Series 1928 Piping Rocks and a from the 5 to 7 of them, a few have different hands. See this one attached from the Hallof Fame in Cooperstown. The last one is my watch t...
